Polyamory
The Untethered
Each relationship becomes what it actually is.
The Untethered's polyamory refuses a fixed architecture. Not because they are uncommitted, but because they believe that each relationship should be allowed to become whatever it actually is rather than whatever a predefined structure says it should be. They practice relationship anarchy not as a philosophy they have adopted but as a genuine description of how they relate. The shape of each connection emerges from the connection itself.
You tend to
- /Decline labels like primary and secondary because they predetermine outcomes you prefer to discover
- /Find that the relationships you have built this way are more honest than ones that started with a script
- /Have ongoing conversations about structure rather than settled ones
- /Trust each relationship to define its own shape over time
- /Find partners who say they want the same thing but actually want a hierarchy to be the most common source of friction
Connects well with
- /The Solitaire — who also declines the conventional script, though from a different foundation
- /The Alchemist — who navigates relational dynamics with the same curiosity you bring
Not to be confused with
The Parallel. The Untethered rejects imposed structure; the Parallel uses a defined structure deliberately.
